• Course:  The Cheetah Exam Prep Course for the PMP Exam is held every week in a number of cities around the US,  and offered in a number of countries outside the US.  All courses are held near the Prometric testing centers so that our students can take the PMI PMP exam on Friday of the week they take our course.  The course locations tell the major city near where the course is offered since most people are not familiar with the names of the suburban towns of the actual course locations.  For example, in the Michigan area we hold the courses in Plymouth, Michigan, which is near Detroit.

Do you teach this course in-house (i.e. for companies)?

• Yes, we do offer the program on contract for companies. Contact pam@cheetahlearning.com to get more information.
   

• Many companies cannot do without all their project managers (PMs) for a whole week.  They have a very difficult time scheduling the in-house program for their PMs to participate all at once the same week.   We do offer quantity discounts on our public courses so a company with 20 or more PMs can have them participate at different times in the various public courses offered monthly in their region.  Their PM’s can register for a course that best fits their schedule (we don’t have to have every PM in their company take the same course the same week).

Can I reserve a spot in the course and pay for the registration later?

• No - your seat is reserved as soon as we receive full payment for your registration. We’ve had significant problems with people reserving a spot then never showing up or paying for their reservation.

• In most circumstances, we limit the class size to under 25 participants to provide the necessary one-on-one coaching. If we accept reservations from people who have not paid and the class fills up – then we can’t let other people into the program. This is not fair to the people who want to take the course but can’t because it is “sold out”, and it is a bad business practice for us because we end up losing money.

• Therefore, we no longer allow people to “reserve” a spot in the course and pay for their registration later.

Does the cost of the course include the cost to take PMI's PMP Certification Exam?

• No, it does not include the cost of PMI's PMP Certification Exam.

• PMI & Cheetah Learning are separate organizations. Cheetah Learning provides the course, but PMI provides the PMP certification test.

• PMI requires the PMI exam application to be completed by the individual requesting to take the PMP certification exam.

What happens if I don't pass the exam?

• With our guarantee, we pay for the exam retake ($275) and recommend you retake the exam within the next several weeks.

• Our policy is to cover the cost of the exam retake two times and then offer a full refund.

• You have to test within one month of completing the class and retest within 45 days of failing.

• You can take our course again within two months at no charge.

PMI requires 35 hours of Project Management training before you can apply to take the PMP^® Exam - can I take this course to meet that requirement then take the exam?

• Yes - Cheetah Learning is a PMI® Registered Education Provider.  If you have not taken a basic Project Management course,  we include an online PM basics course that satisfies the 35 hour PM training requirement for PMI’s PMP Certification Eligibility Application.

Why it is so important to take and pass this exam? What does the PMP credential mean in the job market?

• For people who hold the PMP credential, companies are assured that the person who is doing the role of "project manager" has passed a rigorous industry standard test regarding the basic knowledge necessary for the job of project management.
Also, only people with the necessary credentials are eligible to take the exam so it ensures that if you hire someone with a PMP credential, they are already pre-screened for the experience necessary to be a project manager. How do I get the eligibility letter from PMI to take the PMP Certification Exam?

• You can apply for the eligibility letter to take the certification exam right on the PMI website. (http://www.pmi.org)
You can either become a member of PMI or you can just apply for the exam. We recommend becoming a member first.

How long does it take to get the eligibility letter to take the exam?

• It takes ten to fourteen days from when PMI receives your exam application.
  You can apply on PMI’s website (http://www.pmi.org).  You can apply by mail – but the turnaround time is much faster if you apply online.

What if my procurement department requires a more detailed syllabus for the class?

• We have a detailed course syllabus on our website that provides in depth overviews of the material covered on every day of the class.  Download a copy you can print out and give to your procurement department.

Does this course require any pre-work before the class starts?

• To take this course, you need to have the eligibility letter from PMI to take the PMP certification exam. You can apply on PMI’s website (http://www.pmi.org).
We encourage you to read PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK^® Guide) prior to taking the course. When you become a PMI member you get an electronic copy of the PMBOK^® Guide -Third Edition but you'll need a hard copy for class.  You can purchase a hard copy from www.cheetahstore.com.  People taking the exam may also find it beneficial to assess their current habits and consider implementing the diet, exercise and lifestyle tips prior to taking the course to see how it affects their mental performance.

 What is your guarantee?

• We guarantee that you will pass the PMP exam after participating in our accelerated PMP exam preparation program.
• While most people take the exam on Friday after their four day class, you must take the exam within one month of completing the course. If you do not pass the PMP exam, your instructor will create a personalized coaching program to help you shore up your weak areas and will guide you through the process of rescheduling your exam.
• The second exam must be taken within 45 days of the first exam. If you need to test for a 3rd time, that test must be taken within 45 days of the second exam.
• We cover the PMI Member cost of $275.00 to retake the exam up to two times.
• In the event you do not pass the PMP exam after the third attempt, we will fully refund the fee you paid us to take the course upon request.
• If you fail the exam, you can also retake the course at no additional charge within 2  months of your original course date.

 What is your cancellation/refund policy?

• You can cancel your class for a full refund if you do not access the course kit material. However, if you choose to cancel the class once you have accessed the course kit material, a $595.00 fee will be deducted from your original class price before the balance is refunded to you. A $350.00 fee also will apply if you cancel a live class within 30 days of the course start date. We have a passing guarantee.  If you do not pass the exam after attending the course and taking it three times, we fully refund your course fee.

• If a student needs to switch class, change requests 30 days or later from the currently scheduled class will be accessed a $350.00 fee.   Extenuating circumstances that have been approved in the past include a letter from their direct supervisor stating that they are working on a critical part of a project and cannot be released for that week, unplanned surgery, and serious illness by an immediate family member.   The commitment to become PMP^® Certified is a serious endeavor for most people and we have had very few last minute requests for cancellations or class changes.  Having said that we realize that unforeseen situations do arise on occasion and we attempt to be accommodating to our students.
• We provide very detailed outlines of what is involved with our program and give prospective students ample opportunities through direct contact with former students to explore whether this program is right for them.  Therefore, once someone has commenced our program, we only offer a course refund if they are not successful with passing the PMP exam after three attempts.  We commit substantial resources in preparing our class for each and every participant – therefore once a student has started their class, we cannot offer a refund.
• We have the program organized in a way that we can teach a class in the unlikely event we get very limited enrollment.

How long is the course? (Days, Total Hours, Hours Per Day, Etc.)
 

• We run the course ten hours each day Monday thru Thursday with one to two hour homework assignments each night.
• We recommend that people make every effort to schedule their actual PMP exam with the Prometric test facility near the course on Friday morning.  (once you register for the course, we provide the addresses and phone numbers of the Prometric test facilities near the course).   People who register at least six weeks in advance can usually get in on Friday morning.   Most people who register later, can take the test on Friday, but may have to take it later in the day.

Can I pay in installments?
 

• We are evaluating several financial institutions who may handle the financing aspects of installment payments.  At this time, people who require an installment approach need to charge the course to their credit cards or get financing through their financial institution.  
• Most people who take this course can write it off on their taxes, can charge a higher hourly rate for their services, can command a higher salary if they are employed, or can find a job easier if they are unemployed.  It’s a safe bet that charging this course will provide a very fast return on investment.  This is not the same as charging a “depreciating asset” such as Christmas gifts or a vacation.
