Have Fun Again
Remember when summer meant playing outside all day until the street lights came on? And laughing and eating ice cream cones? And laughing and playing flashlight tag?

Yeah, that was back when times were simple. Or maybe the times weren’t simple, but we saw the world more simply as kids. The key to enjoying time away now that you’re all grown up – and lightening up the adult hours of each day – is to bring back that simplicity from your youth and learn how to laugh and have fun with friends and family anytime.

Can’t quite remember how? Here are a few tips to help.

  • Do what you love. Whether it’s alpine sliding, roller coasters or playing a harmonica, don’t short change yourself. If you love doing it, make it a regular part of your life. Don’t relegate joy to a few times a year.

  • Giggle again. Listen to a group of pre-schoolers playing. Someone’s always giggling because they all know how good it feels. If you’ve got a giggler on your team, or in your family, encourage that spirit. It’s not only contagious, but it’s a great morale booster at work and at home.

  • Have a few cool To-Dos. If your To-Do List is filled with the mundane, then you need to add some cool To-Dos to it. Always dreamed of riding in a hot-air balloon? Add it to your list. Still hoping to see Hawaii one day? Put it on there!  Your dreams are definite To-Dos, so be sure they’re on your list.

If you need some more hints on how to re-capture the magic, then you’ll want to read this month’s Know How Network article, Think, Dream and Do, and check out our suggestions on things to do in Do You Remember How? So grab your dreams, your To-Do List and your laughter and bring them with you no matter where you go this summer.
