In a virtual environment, shooting off an e-mail is the modern equivalent of grabbing the phone and calling someone without thinking twice. But typed words can be misleading in terms of tone and intent, so be sure to reread your message before sending it. And be quick to clarify your communication if you think it was misunderstood.
