Cheetah’s Exam Prep – When It’s Time
to Show What You Know
After 10 years of working within the
Project Management industry, Wendy Bell
(Cleveland, Ohio) decided it was time to
test her knowledge by pursuing her PMP®
certification. A number of Wendy’s
coworkers had been through Cheetah’s PMP
Exam Prep® and shared their
experiences with her.
“I
hadn't taken steps toward my PMP®
certification in the past, because it seemed
to be such a grueling endeavor,” Wendy
explains. “When colleagues told me about
Cheetah and what an all-around positive
learning experience it offered, I was
inspired to get moving.”
Wendy’s biggest challenge was the volume of
material she needed to absorb. “I think my
instructor, Kelly, was just awesome. She
really reinforced the value and impact of a
positive, can-do attitude. Kelly also
emphasized the importance of a healthy
lifestyle – breathing exercises for
relaxation, fueling the body with quality
food. She shared great test-taking
strategies, which I know came in handy for
me during the four-hour exam.
“I'd say the most valuable tool of all was
the Cheetah binder, which was the central
repository for the most important PMBOK
information. It was organized in such a
logical, understandable, and
mentally-absorbable way.”
Wendy’s advice for success in the Cheetah
class is to focus as much as possible on the
PMP® exam during the week you
prepare and sit for the exam. “It's so much
about positive mental attitude, so make sure
you keep that front and center in your
toolbox.”
While Wendy’s role hasn't changed at her job
– and she really doesn't expect it to in the
near future – her career has advanced
because of her PMP®
certification. “It's a great indicator of my
commitment to professionalism and continuous
learning within the PM industry. Perhaps
even more importantly, it helps to build my
customers’ confidence in my ability to
manage their projects.”
