SPF Myths to
Ignore
As with
traditional SPF, there are rumors
associated with "work" SPF that you need
to be aware of. Your Project Management
skills can only protect you from getting
burned if you use them correctly.
Beware of the following myths:
-
· It's
"waterproof."
Chances are your SPF protection is
just water resistant not waterproof,
so don't let it lull you into a
false sense of security. Know that
you need to reapply your PM skills
often, especially when/if your
project needs to be "cleaned up."
-
· You
only need to apply it once.
Keep a Project Management eye on
your project to ensure the project
agreement is being followed,
deliverables are completed, and time
lines are observed. Use your PM
skills often throughout every
project.
-
·
I don't
need SPF protection for such a small
project.
Don't kid yourself. It doesn't
matter how small your project is,
you still need the protection that
comes from using good Project
Management skills if you don't want
to get burned. Protecting the
smallest projects makes it second
nature for you to do the same on
each and every one of the projects
you manage. It's a wonderful habit
to get into.
-
This project isn't really important.
I don't need SPF coverage.
Wrong. Even when the "sun" isn't out
on your project because it's a
low-visibility project, that doesn't
mean that you can't get burned.
Protect yourself with smart Project
Management decisions and you won't
have to worry about getting burned.
