 Environmental Project Management Certificate

Overview

Phase I:  Knowledge

Project Management Strength Builder - You complete a short self-assessment to understand how you would react in various situations related to managing projects.  Once completed, your results will highlight your strengths and challenges with doing project management.  You analyze your current situation to understand how you could best use your strengths.  This Phase of the course is 3 hours long.

Phase II:  Skills

Environmental Project Management Fundamentals - You learn the fundamentals of project management and apply them on a project in your work environment.  You also learn how to use Microsoft Project to schedule your project and manage your project resources.  This Phase of the course takes approximately 60 hours to complete.  Your online instructor guides you through learning project management while you apply the fundamentals of project management in your work environment.

Course Texts (included): Cheetah Project Management  by Michelle LaBrosse, PMP, Microsoft Project Version 2002 Step by Step by Carl Chatfield, et al. and A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Third Edition by The Project Management Institute.

Phase III:  Demonstration

Environmental Project Management Measurement -  You learn how to deliver results with your projects by measuring the results of your projects.  The people who were involved in your project during the fundamentals phase complete a PM Scorecard on your performance.  They do this by filling out a short survey online.  You receive a one page report of the survey results and then complete a 15 hour online course to develop a plan on how you are going to continually improve your skills as a project manager based on the results.
