Start Date - The course is available online and you can start the course as soon as we receive full payment.

Duration  - 30 hours - You can complete this course in less than a week (30 hours). However, we recognize that you may be juggling a career and family so we give you up to ten weeks from the date you register to complete all the course activities. If you need an extension to finish this course, you can purchase an additional week for 1/4 the list price of the course.

The purpose of this course is to learn, implement and manage an effective Project Portfolio Management Process that meets the company's overall strategic imperatives through stewardship of the portfolio of projects.  It includes best practices templates and worksheets for implementing a standardized Project Portfolio Management Process that is aligned with the PMBOK® Guide.  It also includes tools and techniques to inventory, monitor, balance, prioritize, and review for continuous improvement opportunities.

Course Details

  • This course is designed to take you step-by-step through a Project Portfolio Management Process implementation and includes project scoring methods, best practices worksheets, and templates. 

  • You can do the course at your own pace and you have access to your instructor and the course content for ten weeks.

  • For each module we use our Online Accelerated Quality in Learning Model - Learn, Do, Check, Act. First you learn the step (the activity described in each module), next you do what you learned in your own environment, then you check in with your instructor by sending your completed worksheets and updated Learning Journal reporting what you experienced doing the activities, lastly you create your action plan of how you're going to use what you just learned in your Project Management career.

  • In order to receive full credit for the course, you will need to record the date and time you took to do each activity and record this in your online learning schedule.  You will also need to send all assignments to your online instructor along with a learning journal with the results of your activities and the action plans of your learning. In this journal, please also log the time you spent doing each activity.   

  • We recommend you commit at least five hours per week to completing this course.  You can complete the course in thirty hours (one week if you work 6 hours a day on it), or you can spread it out over a period of ten weeks.  The activities though are based on you trying out various project portfolio templates, tools and techniques in your own environment, so it is recommended that you take the full ten weeks to work with the material.
