The purpose of this course is to provide people
who work on teams the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to effectively
and efficiently manage or contribute to teams while working on projects.
This course is for ordinary people; that is, anyone who has to work with two
or more people on any type or size project. You will learn basic project
management techniques and the importance of including the team during
planning, along with proper team member selection and role assignment.
You'll learn the number one cause of project failures, how to reduce or
eliminate the risk of conflict, and how to manage conflicts that do arise.
You'll learn to recognize the importance of and opportunities for shared
leadership, individual empowerment and choosing the right communication
techniques which allow a team to reach a significant accomplishment in a
short period of time.
We use the concepts of Choice Theory and Cheetah Communications (aka
Non-Violent Communication Theory) and themes from Cheetah Negotiations to
have you recognize individual needs and feelings and experience the effects
of different choices and responses you make to situations you encounter
during the simulation. Using basic Cheetah Project Management techniques as
a life skill, you'll leave with an understanding of how to plan projects,
select team members and assign roles, and keep teams on track while
eliminating the ways you may contribute to conflict in a team. You'll learn
techniques to significantly prevent or reduce conflict within your own
groups, and methods to use to reduce conflict and to improve team selection
and performance. |
