Cheetah CEO recognized by the Women Presidents' Organization
Congratulations to Michelle LaBrosse, CEO of Cheetah Learning, who
has recently been inducted into the Women Presidents' Organization, or WPO. The WPO is a non-profit
membership organization operating in 21 locations nationwide, and is in place "to improve business conditions for woman
entrepreneurs and to promote the acceptance and advancement of woman entrepreneurs in all
industries". The organization
recognizes
achievement for women whose businesses take in over two million dollars in gross annual sales, or one million for service-based businesses.
Cheetah Learning has enjoyed remarkable success this past year, and Michelle's induction to the WPO is an indication of the leaps and bounds with which Cheetah Learning has grown. The WPO's recognition of Michelle is a
testament to her knowledge, hard work, and creativity. Her generous contribution to the industry is
appreciated by many.
Congratulations again, Michelle!

Quote of the month:
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I
do not believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are
the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if
they cannot find them, make them."
-- George Bernard Shaw

The Manhattan Project is considered the
birthplace of modern Project Management. The
brains behind the effort needed to create new methods of planning,
execution, and control to successfully complete this
massive project of creating the world’s first nuclear weapons. The Manhattan project had many unknowns and
overwhelming logistics. In fact, three secret cities were built in order
to support the project. It was an enormous undertaking to plan, execute,
and control the process of building, populating, and sustaining these
three secret cities with up to 20,000 residents each. Many of the concepts
and tools we use today in Project Management were developed during the
Manhattan Project.
Different name, same
great class
We are proud to announce the early 2003 schedule for the Project Accelerator
class (or, if you will, the class formerly known as Accelerated Project Management Base Camp).
The dates for this class are:
January 17th - Detroit, MI
January 31st - Hartford, CT
February 7th - Cleveland, OH
March 3rd - Seattle, WA
March 18th - Hartford, CT
March 25th - Cleveland, OH
April 25th - Seattle, WA
All of the above classes are held at our Cheetah Learning Training Centers.
You have an especially large group? Well, then, you'll be interested to know that we
also provide this course in-house.
Unlike any other, this innovative, one-day course uses a completely hands-on approach to learning. In
one day you'll experience and learn how to launch and manage projects
fast, while coming in on, or even under, budget - which is exactly why we've
re-named the course Project Accelerator.
Now, for all you PMP®s out there, we know what you're thinking -- mostly because we've heard it from many of our PMP®
graduates. You're thinking that you should be a more efficient and effective project manager now that you've earned your
PMP®. But months later, you're still searching high
and low for those proven techniques, tools, and templates to use. Take
heart, and search no more! We guarantee that you will learn effective and
workable Project Management skills or we'll refund your course fee. In addition, you'll earn 8
PDUs while you're learning these valuable techniques.
If you're not a PMP® yet, or don't plan on becoming one, never fear. You can
benefit from this course as well, since it was developed for both PMP®s and
non-PMP®s
alike.
To learn more about the Project Accelerator class, or to register online,
check it out at www.cheetahplanning.com, or call 1-800-246-9106.

Cheetah takes New Zealand
Cheetah Learning, along with Microsoft Project and Simpl - (yes, it's spelled without an
'e'!) - were recently invited to sponsor the annual New Zealand PMI® Conference
that took place from October 31 through November 1 in Auckland, New
Zealand. Cheetah was invited to the conference by Diane Bussey, who is a
Project Management consultant. Bussey is also on the Sponsorship Committee of PMI® New
Zealand.

Cheetah Learning held the
one-day Project Accelerator course (where participants earned 7 PDUs),
sponsored the conference 'Ice Breaker' cocktail hour, and hosted a vendor
table. Cheetah also held the hugely successful Accelerator Course for the
PMP® on November 11 through November 14 at a local university. The students
from this course took a paper-based PMP® exam on November 16th.
Cheetah Learning members Pam Gieras (Business Development), Linda
Fitzgerald (COO and Director of Training), and Michelle LaBrosse (CEO) all
attended the conference.
Feature PMP® of the month
Each month Cheetah News
features a newly certified PMP®, who shares his or her ideas, insight, and
experience with potential PMP®s considering certification.
Nazanin
Rahnama, PMP
As Project Manager in the Financial Services Industry, Nazanin Rahnama has worked on industry projects with over 50 different insurance companies. Her recent motivation to become a certified PMP® stemmed from her knowledge that the PMP® is the most prestigious, globally known designation in the Project Management industry today.
Nazanin was attracted to the Cheetah Learning approach in preparing for the exam because she felt it allowed her to reach her goal by making the most efficient use of her time. "It really is a focused, fast, and efficient approach," Nazanin states. "In fact, this is the method I would recommend to others."
Besides being familiar with the
PMBOK®, Nazanin did not previously use any other preparatory work for the exam besides the Cheetah course. In preparing for the exam, she stayed up late every night during the week of the course practicing what she had learned in class that day. She focused on what the instructors suggested - (for example, the Memory Map) - and by following the instructor's advice, Nazanin felt she had the tools to help her retain the information given to her each day in class.
Nazanin is grateful for her experience during the PMP® course, and feels that the focus of the course helped her immensely to achieve an important milestone in her career. To future PMP®s, she suggests "Take the Cheetah course, come prepared to focus only on the course, practice at night, and be ready to pass!"
Nazanin Rahnama, PMP has
been involved in several Web applications projects for different audiences,
and has redesigned quarterly 401(k) statements (receiving an industry ranking of 2nd best financial statement in the
country). She has also been involved in the process of improvement projects,
new products,
and new services.
