Licensees in Canada and India
Roll Out Accelerated PMP® Course
McBride Consulting of Vancouver, Canada, and VSSI of
Chennai, India delivered their first Accelerated PMP® courses in their respective
cities in July. Both had tremendous success in their programs,
passing all but one person in each of their first classes. McBride
Consulting is offering programs monthly throughout Canada. VSSI is taking
a different approach in India, initially teaching their courses for companies
on-site. Cheetah Learning is planning on offering the classes in India
to the general PM population, which should happen sometime this fall.
New Cheetah Learning Training Center Opens Near Cleveland

For a number of reasons that have all proven to be a formula for success (two of which being accessibility and amenities), we selected Cuyahoga Falls to host our third Cheetah Learning Training Center. The center is easy to access from the Cleveland International Airport, is close to a Prometric Test Center, and it's one block from the Sheraton Suites Hotel - a four star establishment that offers our students large suites for under $100. A five star French restaurant across the street caters meals for our courses. In our first class, we had students join us from as far away as North Carolina. The reason these students attended the course in the Cleveland area was because exam preparation would be the number one focus, without the lure of distractions found in many other locations that cater more to the tourist industry. This proved to be true, and the students passed the exam by a comfortable margin. We're currently offering monthly PMP® courses at the Cleveland facility. Look for our one and two day Next Generation Project Management courses, which will be rolled out this fall. |
Trapped in another boring, slow-paced
training course? Not with Accelerated Project Management Base Camp! This course is fast-paced,
extremely entertaining, and highly interactive. And the innovative learning techniques used in the
Base Camp have been proven more effective than those methods taught in more traditional courses.
The Base Camp experience allows any individuals who work on project teams to practice and master
the techniques and methods presented in Michelle LaBrosse’s book. Base Camp graduates leave at the
end of the day able to implement everything they've learned as soon as they return to the office.
Cheetah Learning will offer public Accelerated Project Management Base Camp courses
beginning in September. The course will be held once a month in each of Cheetah Learning’s training
centers located in Boston, Hartford, Cleveland, and Detroit. Class size is limited to 20, so
register early! We also offer a one-day, on-site program customized to your business and industry.
Currently, we have customized programs for the biotech, sales and marketing, and IT industries.

Each month Cheetah News features a newly certified PMP®, who shares his or her ideas, insight, and experience with potential PMP®s considering certification.
Kevin B. Whittington, PMP
With eight years of Project Management experience under his belt, Kevin
Whittington has had his share of projects focusing on the Information Technology
industry. While in his current position as Project Manager at Vital Support Systems,
he was recently informed that the company needed a certified PMP® on
staff to become a Cisco IP Telephony Service Specialist - one of only a few
companies in the nation with this specialization. Not only did Kevin need to
reach the goal of certification, but he had to do it by July 1st. In searching the Internet for certification information, Kevin found Cheetah
Learning, and after a few phone calls, he knew
what he had to do to reach this goal.
Kevin was initially attracted to the Cheetah Learning program because of the sincerity of Cheetah staff members and their concern for his situation. He found that the Cheetah staff backed up their concern with tangible results. "Their promptness in answering my questions, and the fact that they directed me towards the correct path to take, assured me that I was dealing with a reputable company," Kevin asserts. "The Cheetah Learning online course orientation lays all the strategies and requirements in a simple to follow outline. Within four days I was receiving my acceptance letter from PMI® to sit for the exam and was scheduled to take the Cheetah course in Hartford, Connecticut. The course teaches you exactly what is required to pass the exam."
While the PMBOK® and related materials were helpful and necessary, Kevin found that the Cheetah Learning techniques and the approach of how the material was presented allowed him to acquire and maintain a deeper knowledge, particularly with the use of preparatory exams and the real-life experience of the instructors. Kevin was also impressed with the stress reduction techniques he learned, helping him to focus, and to successfully complete and pass the exam. "There is not one single technique that allowed me to pass the exam," Kevin says, "but the combination of all the materials, experience, and methodology of study prepared me to pass the exam. It's not an easy course, but I learned more in four days than it would have taken me to learn in an entire semester long college course."
