Share the Love – Confidence Leads to Happiness – Dec 4, 2017

I recently saw a meme on social media that confidence creates excellence whereas insecurity fixates on perfection. It resonated as the truth for me. Developing confidence in Project Management comes from mastering the basics so that you can have great results time after time after time with your projects. This is my focus with creating all the courses at Cheetah Learning – getting our students to a level of mastery very quickly. Developing confidence through mastery creates more than just excellence though, it also creates happiness.
Several years ago, I took the plunge and went for something I had been wanting to do for years. I became a registered yoga teacher (that is what the RYT is at the end of the alphabet soup after my name). Our PMP coaches lead our Cheetah students in stretching and breathing exercises throughout their accelerated PMP exam prep efforts and we have yoga rolled into all our courses at Cheetah Learning as it’s a great way to get your brain ready for learning. So I have been practicing yoga for decades. Taking my yoga practice to the next level to where I could teach it significantly enhanced my confidence with doing yoga. It also enhanced my confidence in many other areas of my life.
I rolled this new insight and capability into Cheetah’s course called “The Happiness Project.” In this class, we include a module to learn the Happiness Yoga Flow – and yes this course includes our accelerated learning yoga mat. One of the reasons I named this the “Happiness Yoga Flow” – is because it’s not just good for your body and keeps those pesky challenges of aging at bay, it also improves confidence. Achieving a healthier body and increasing my confidence helps keep me happy.
Here is what a student shared who recently completed the Happiness Project Class:
What was the most valuable part of the course?: ‘Identifying what makes me happy, seeing things through a different lens, focusing on the good, letting go, relaxing through Yoga’
Other Comments?: ‘This course really did help me to appreciate all the fantastic things in my life, instead of centering on the bad ones which werent really that bad, once I refocused them’
