Welcome to The Year of Strength and Goodwill
Chief Cheetah’s Insights
Hello from Haines, Alaska. Yes I came to Alaska for the holidays. Now before you think I’m a little off, this is where I hang my hat as often as I can throughout the year. I found my way here in 2002 on a vacation. Like many of my neighbors, I immediately fell in love with this area’s stunning beauty and the wonderfully welcoming community. Soon after my first visit, I purchased a “compound” in need of much repair. I turned it into a corporate retreat center for Cheetah Learning. It’s been an amazing adventure ever since.
I’m very lucky to have found my tribe here. Kindred spirits with a playful sense of adventure in all aspects of life.
The other night I was enjoying dinner with two friends whom I helped launch their now thriving business ten years ago. It was the day the Russian diplomats were expelled from the US. One of my friends suggested we put some type of shield around Haines to protect it from missile attacks. To lighten things up, I said, “I already installed that around myself.” I joked it was my “I know you are but what am I” shield. But my shield is just a little different than the “you’re rubber and I’m glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you” sentiment. I prefer to stop the transfer of negativity, so whatever nasty sentiment is being expressed bounces off me and comes back at them as healing, loving, kindness to activate their inherent nature of being compassionate and caring beings.
And this is how I’m starting 2017 – using the strength of my inherent good nature to model good will towards all.
Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.
