    I spent a rainy weekend in April watching every streaming show I could find on Greece. It was my first “arm chair” adventure as I tend to prefer to take the actual trip than to just dream about taking the trip someday. However my plans to travel to Greece in September have now been rescheduled twice in two years due to travel concerns over Covid.     It got me thinking about how people approach the Project Management Professional exam – are they just dreaming about someday being PMP certified or will they actually become PMP certified with their efforts?  I was reviewing a popular online PMP overview program – it was as good as some of those high production value Greece travel shows I watched.  Just like those shows would not actually help me get to experience Greece in person, this glitzy PMP overview program would not help people become PMP certified.  But then I don’t think that was its purpose.

    Think about it – is your purpose just to wet your appetite on becoming a PMP or to actually become a PMP?  I’ve learned over the past several years that over fifty percent of people who take other PMP exam prep programs fail to go on the actually take the PMP exam.  Just like I have failed to get to Greece after spending countless hours planning on taking a trip to Greece.
