  • Three Tips to Revitalize a Stalled Career

Michelle LaBrosse,  CCPM, CAL, PMP, RYT

Revitalize a stalled career with these three steps.

We’ve all been there at one time or another – our career feels like it’s on the slow track to nowhere.

I remember when I was still in the Aerospace field, I often wondered “is this all there is?”

I stumbled upon a book called “Do What You Are” – it unlocked a whole new world of possibilities for me.   It was based on using my personality type to find the right career.  It gave me the insights (and confidence) to venture beyond my comfort zone and create something different.

But it took me another eight years to make all the changes required.

Do you have eight years to find the right path for you?

No – then read the three tips to revitalize your career cheetah fast.

    Learn how to learn fast

The faster you can learn, the faster you can adapt to changing circumstances, the quicker you can pursue new opportunities.   I became committed to accelerated learning as part of my eight-year change process.  It’s helped me stay vital and engaged in my career – learning is the best panacea for career boredom and burnout.

Pick the right projects and do them the right way

Nothing sucks out your life force faster than a project going nowhere, that is not exciting for you to work on, where you have to follow cumbersome bureaucratic project management processes that feel like you’re just shuffling paperwork from one pile to another.  You do have the ability to pick projects that energize you and you do also have the ability to craft your own way to do those projects that help you rise to the top.   You just need to know how.

Negotiate in a way that creates more value for everyone.

It’s no fun feeling like you got the short end of the stick and everyone around you is doing better in life then you are.   It all comes down to how you can create value for others.   If you’re all about “what’s in it for me” – then you’re going to be left in the dust time and time again.   You need to be more about “what can we create together.”   Master how to bring out the best of others and help their lives soar to find much more meaning in your career.

We tested out these ideas over the past 15 years in Cheetah Learning.   Individually, approached, each tip works incredibly well with improving your career.  But when you put all three together, they act to put your career on the fast track to success.

But don’t just take our word for it – see what our students have to say:

“The overall methodology was clear, organized, and simple to implement. I was amazed that course went far beyond project management. There were some beneficial life lessons embedded in the course as well. I would recommend the course to anyone who needs a fresh approach to life in general.” – L. G.

If you want to achieve a level of career success we have with these approaches, but don’t want to take 8 years to do it,  consider becoming a Cheetah Certified Project Manager – It’s only 60 hours, and it’s all online.

You can finish it in less than a week – but we give you three months access to your online coach to make sure you get and stay on the best path for you.

You are guided every step of the way to make sure that you carve out the career path that will help you soar.

Once you’ve completed the coursework, you even earn a credential that shows the world you can get things done fast and bring out the best of everyone in the process.
