  • Share the Love – Entitled to Success – December 9, 2017

Michelle LaBrosse, CCPM, PMP, PMI-ACP, RYT

My father used to say “success comes to those who go after it.”  He was always encouraging me to pursue my dreams.  His influence plays a huge part in the courses we create at Cheetah Learning.  I had moved back East to live closer to my folks while my children were in elementary school.  Both my parents had recently retired and had offered to help me raise the children after a heartbreaking divorce when my husband had an affair and married the “other” woman.  When I was starting Cheetah, we would have all hands meetings every Monday around lunchtime.  Without any prompting, my father started showing up at those meetings with lunch from the local sandwich shop.

My father did not just provide encouragement, he also provided support in all manners of ways to help me become the success I am today.  In Malcolm Gladwell’s book “Outliers,”  he talks about the advantage successful people have when they have parents who support and encourage their success.  Both my parents were that advantage for me.  Even parents who have modest means can make a huge difference in the success of their children.

Helping our Cheetah students create similar advantages for their children is one of the great unintended consequence of the whole body of work we have created.  One of the many things I love about running Cheetah is when I hear from our students on how they are using the PMP tools and techniques they learned in one of our programs with their children and how it has helped their children in school, to get into better colleges, etc. My father has left quite a legacy because of his early support of my efforts with Cheetah Learning.

Attached is the Cheetah Reading Mind Map we initially created for Cheetah Students to use to teach this technique to others (including their children).  If you’d like to learn more about how to use accelerated learning techniques and project management methods to improve yours, your family, or friends success  – check out our Certified Accelerated Learner program.
